The Gondorian Air Force, in conjunction with Central Command out of Minas Tirith, has begun the development of an unmanned aircraft capable of traveling in space at hypersonic speeds. This wil be possible through two ramjet engines. The development project has been dubbed Project Aurora, and the greatest minds in Gondor have been recruited to help produce and test the plane. This aircraft will be stealthy in design, and will be multi-faceted for different missions. It will act partially as a reconnaissance plane, with high-tech cameras and imaging equipment to give it satellite-like detail on the move. This will be critical to Gondor's ability to gather intelligence in times of crisis. The aircraft's other role will be more devious: it will be capable of carrying a nuclear payload either through droppable bombs or hypersonic cruise missiles with nuclear warheads on them. The aircraft will have VTOL capabilities as well as a comprehensive defense system, with things like chaff, flares, decoys, and directed energy weapons. This project is extremely secretive and is only known about on a strictly need-to-know basis, and the prototypes, once completed, will only be housed in underground hangars at remote air bases.
